For the first picture to present here I have chosen a shot of Hradec Kralove, the town where I was born and grew up and though I moved to a nearby village, my heart still beats for Hradec.
The town has dates from 1225 and it was a dowry town of Czech queens. |

Hi Romana,
glad to see you here too...
I like this simple and orderly composition showing this lovely architecture with some many pretty details and graphic patterns. The light is splendid and makes the colours of the façades vibrate with it. Great sense of tridimensionality too.
Have a nice weekend,

Hi,
tight framing and colors work really well there. Interesting!

Everything always looks good in threes as you demonstrate with this beautiful architecture. The tight framing works well too. You chose a good time of day as the light from the side adds some interesting shadows.
Welcome to PF. I hope you enjoy it here

Nice coloured and structured gables of your hometown, Romana. A good start on PF showing us architecture from the village you gave your heart to. I am bit astonished as I see only one small flower in the windows (left) or are there more and a bit hidden?

Hello Romana! I just left TE when we met and I always felt strange that I did that without saying good-bye but I guess I was also not sure which way to go but meanwhile I feel at home where I am so I hope you feel the same way in the future. You live in a wonderful corner of Europe with a lot of history and wonderful landscapes. The house rows are a great beginning of what we get to see. Somehow you wonder how it looks inside, who lives there, what they do, if they cook or sleep :))) all these things. Welcome!!!! Have a wonderful Sunday, greetings from sunny Switzerland ... Barbara. |

I liked your pictures on TE and I am happy to find you here (thinking of leaving TE myself).
I have always liked your nick name ... baba in Czech has several meanings - not very nice old lady, a coward, but young men call pretty women by this word too - it is up to you what you choose :-), I vote for the last...
Thanks for your kind words and have a nice Sunday.

Hello Roman, welcome warmly to our website.
I hope you stay with us for a long time and that soon will fill up your portfolio photos just as nice as the one today from Hradec Kralove. I've heard a lot about this place, but always in the context of skis. I very much hope that through you I will know this city from a different, equally interesting site.
Houses that you show, give me a basis for that to believe in my own words.
You show here a very nice architecture of the old part of town. Beautiful colors and very diligent staff.
Greetings from Mosina (Poland),
Jurek |

there is not much snow usually in Hradec and no mountains, but thanks for your words, I will be glad to see your pictures too.

Hello Romana, Welcome to this excellent web site. I am relatively new here as most of us are, and I think you will enjoy posting here. I have been gone for almost two weeks and am catching up.
Now for your picture. Love all of the colors of the houses in the Czech Republic. You hometown is well presented in this shot and I am sure that you had a great time growing up in a town of this size. From your picture and others, I think the Czechs do a fantastic job of keeping their property in wonderful maintenance. Clean, sparkling and so colorful. I have been to Cesky Krumluv five or six times over the past ten years and I was in Praha for a few days and that has been my only exposure to your beautiful country. Looking forward to viewing more pictures of this lovely area. Regards, Roger |

A great first post showing us the facades of your home town. I can understand how you love Hradec. From this small view, it seems very beautiful.
Look forward to seeing more and hope that you also feel very at home here!

Hi, Romana, welcome to PF!
I should have recognized this as a Czech scene from the colors and the decorations alone. A very nice representation of that style of architecture. The pattern of light and shadows is also nice.
Best,
Dan |

Romana, good morning from Brasil and a warm and big welcome to you!
Nice first entry showing the façades of your mother town in pastel tones and this soft light.
The open windows, the details of the architcture and the diagonal sun shade in the walls give
it a lot of details to look at.
Good work! TFS and have a great weekend!
