About this photograph:
I did not take advantage of the skiing - it is the truth. I do not regret however splendid excursions. The noise of the stream and the weather more reminding the early spring worked very reassuringly.
On the way back from above the waterfall Kamienczyk can be met on several very charming streams speeding to the river Kamienna.

Canon Elan IIE with the Sigma 24-70 2.8 EX DG Macro, negative material Fuji Superia 200. Presented photograph is a scan performed from the negative film.

Hello Jurek. So it is Sunday morning here in the desert and I decided to do some surfing of this gallery. I spotted this shot and I had to comment. It is refreshing to see something like this when outside it is 43C. Everything is just about dried up including most of my roses. The smell of the water and foliage when taking a picture such as this is worth every step used to get to the subject. Delightful colors and excellent composition is present. I always applaud good composition, albeit I am not a stickler for the rule of thirds and such other nonsense. Maybe sometimes it is applicable, but not here. I must tell you that I was in Warsaw in the autumn of 1990. We were driving and we drove from there to Wroclaw and then on to Prague in what was still Czechoslovakia. I remember the lovely park with the Chopin statue. We stayed in an American hotel, newly opened and I can remember the constant pressure of money changers wanting to exchange currency for our dollars. Zlotys maybe. I had just retired from the university and had taken a consulting assignment involving Study Abroad programs for American students to travel and study in Europe. Things were still fairly grim in Warsaw and there was much evidence of its failing economy as the result of its situation. In Wroclaw, I met with a collegeau, who had taught a number of times at our university and we had a pleasant time there. Fantastic church and also some form of outstanding historical displays, but my mind cannot recall the specifics. I am sure things have changed significantly in the past 20 years. Regards, Roger

Hi Jurek,
very nice shot, I love these small rivers! What you show us here is a wonderful shot, I like the fact that you froze the water, rather than going for a longer exposure and therefore blurring it, it transmits a feeling of the wilderness of the river. Very nice, good quality of the scan!

Take care
Mark

Hi Jurek,

wonderful nature scene here and great quality for a scan too! I love the speeding stream - nice white highlights against the autumn leave. Well done, my friend!

Hope all is well in Mosina! We had a terrific sunny Saturday here in Buchenberg.

Take good care!
Linda

Hi Jerzy
The scan worked very well. I like this POV that utilizes the "S" curve in the river. Nicely done.

Hallo Jurek!
A fascinating and very near to nature streambed. I like all these rocks around which make the water foaming. The zigzag of the stream works very well in the scenery. A really vivid and beautiful little stream on its unresting way - finally to the sea ...
The water looks a bit brownish. Does it come from a moor, a swamp?
Greetings from sunny and again warmer Westphalia - and have a nice weekend!
Frank

jlynx wrote in 2010/07/31 14:57:29: I'm not sure if the color is caused by the marshy land. Rather, marshes is not here. Perhaps it is a lot of iron. The main color is derived from the leaves of beech. Everywhere is full of them and mostly they have such a background color. This had a dominant color in all photos from around the brook Kamienczyk.
Greetings from sleeping Mosina,
Jurek
