I have a thing for old advertising painted on buildings. Most of these late 19th early 20th century forms of advertising have long ago faded away, been painted over, or the building has been torn down.
This old Levi’s sign, I found on the side of a long abandoned hardware store in the small town of Union Oregon. Painted, most likely, over 75 years ago, still in fair condition since it is a North facing will. Crumbling, open to the weather and occupied only buy pigeons, I’m sure this buildings days are numbered.

IMHO, Some buildings, not just because of architecture style, but because of the importance they had in old times, should be preserved.
It would be a nice way of revitalizing a district, to give these buildings another use...
Your picture is so good. The wall is the canvas and the painting still keeps the colors and motive, so nostalgic, so charming.
Levi Strauss jeans is part of the Americana, at least for us foreigners. I remember when I was adolscent in the 70´s and my father bought my first jeans, imported, a small fortune. It was a Levi Strauss jeans. Good times... |

Hi Kevin
An interesting subject that is well presented here. The wall is has changed over the years much like the businesses. I wonder if Levi Strauss even make jeans in the USA anymore?

Hello Kevin,
I thought this looked familiar. My family is from Union, La Grande, North Powder, and Baker City, oh yes, and Elgin. That covers it pretty much.
You captured the textures of the brick with excellence as you allowed the perfect light and shutter mix. Now you have made me homesick.
Excellent Capture...
